Severe storm attacked philippines!! Atleast 7 died!!

A typhoon named Ewiniar has moved away from the Philippines, leaving at least 7 people dead, mainly from floods and falling trees.

The storm caused the closure of several seaports, stranding thousands of passengers.

Ewiniar, locally known as Aghon, hit the eastern coast on May 24 and lingered for several days before moving northeast.

By May 28, all storm warnings were lifted, said the officials.

The typhoon was last tracked about 450km east of Basco in Batanes, with winds of 130kmh and gusts up to 160kmh.

Severe flooding occurred in Quezon, with water levels reaching up to 2.4 metres in some areas.

Clogged drainage systems after a hot summer worsened the flooding.

Quezon Governor Angelina Tan said many homes including hers were damaged.

She moved to a safer place while coordinating aid distribution.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. reported that over 26,700 people were affected, with many seeking shelter in evacuation centers.

The typhoon disrupted operations at three airports and 29 seaports and caused power outages in six cities and towns.

Over 4,800 passengers and cargo workers were stranded due to seaport closures.

President Marcos mentioned that relief supplies had been pre-positioned in areas expected to be affected by the typhoon, ensuring that aid could be delivered quickly.
