Mount Ruang volcano in Indonesia erupted three times, shooting out lava and ash high into the sky.
This caused about 12,000 people living nearby to leave their homes.
Some of them were moved to a safer place because there was a worry that parts of the volcano could fall into the sea and cause a tsunami.
An old lady who lives nearby said it was scary when the volcano erupted.
Rocks fell from the sky, even hitting faraway houses, she added.
The ash from the volcano spread so far that it reached Malaysia, prompting seven airports to shut down.
The Head of Mount Ruang monitoring post said that volcano is still smoking and sending ash into the air.
The officials warned everyone to stay away from the volcano for their safety.
This reminded a similar situation in 2018, when another volcano caused a tsunami that killed more than 400 people and injured thousands.
