An explosion occurred early on May 22 morning at a five-storey apartment building in Harbin, China, according to state media.The blast happened at around 7 am at the intersection of Xiangshun and Gongbin streets.
The blast came from an apartment on the fourth floor.Local residents heard a loud explosion and thought it was a gas leak.
The force of the blast shook the balcony of the apartment and several balconies in nearby buildings. People quickly ran out of the building in a hurry. Ambulances, police and firefighters arrived quickly to the scene.
Gas explosions are quite common in China.In March, a gas leak caused a restaurant explosion in Hebei province, killing two and injuring 26, damaging buildings and cars nearby.
