A fire broke out at an amusement park in Rajkot, Gujarat, India, killing atleast 33 people, including nine children.
The incident occurred on May 25 evening at the TRP amusement and theme park.
Over 300 people were enjoying the summer holiday during the incident, said the officials.
The fire spread rapidly due to the flammable materials used in a temporary structure within the park.
This structure collapsed near the main entrance, trapping many visitors inside.
Survivors described a chaotic scene as they desperately tried to escape.
Some kicked down doors and jumped out of windows to save themselves.
The bodies of the victims, many of whom were burned beyond recognition, were laid out in rows before being taken away.
Officials have warned that the death toll could rise as more bodies are identified.
At least four people have been detained for questioning in connection with the incident.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep distress over the incident on social media.
It was reported that an FIR has been registered against 6 persons in connection with this incident. 2 persons were arrested.
It is said that the fire started while welding. The supreme court has voluntarily said that this is a major man-made tragedy.
