A Car crashed!! A couple and their two children died!!

U.S. auto safety investigators are examining a deadly crash involving a VinFast VF 8 electric car in Pleasanton, California.

The crash, which happened on April 24, resulted in the deaths of a couple and their two children, aged 13 and 9.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration wants to find out what caused the crash and the fire that followed.

A complaint filed with NHTSA suggested there might have been an issue with the car’s steering.

The Pleasanton police said the driver appeared to lose control and hit a large oak tree, possibly due to speeding.

VinFast, a Vietnamese carmaker that began selling cars in the U.S. in 2023, has not yet responded to requests for comments.

NHTSA regularly investigates over 100 crashes each year, especially those involving new technologies and potential safety issues.

According to the complaint, the car’s steering wheel turned right on its own, but the driver regained control before the crash.

Police also noted that the family did not own the car involved.
