US FDA tested milk for for Bird flu in 17 states!!

The US FDA tested milk and other dairy products in 17 states for bird flu between April 18-22, collecting 297 samples.

These samples came from products made in 38 states, showing that milk in stores can come from multiple farms and be processed in different states.

Since late March, bird flu has been found in dairy cattle in nine states.

The FDA reported on May 10 that no live bird flu virus was found in the milk samples.

It confirmed that pasteurized milk is safe to drink, but advised against drinking raw milk.

Scientists believe the bird flu outbreak might be larger than reported, as about 20 per cent of the tested milk samples contained traces of the H5N1 virus.

The tests included products like cottage cheese, cream, sour cream, yogurt and milk.
